You read the blog, now listen to the podcast!

The ultimate companion piece to Bluegrass Bourbon and Eats, Hungry in Kentucky is our food podcast where we talk about our favorite things…food and otherwise. Subscribe to us wherever you get your podcasts to hear a more laid-back version of the blog - we have opinions on all kinds of topics, ranging from local Kentucky restaurants to your (probably) weird food habits and everything in between. Help us spread the good word from the Bluegrass Bible by sharing our show and as always…STAY HUNGRY KENTUCKY!

Sara, who serves as the main writer for the blog, also sits at the helm of the podcast as the host of Hungry in Kentucky. An avid podcast listener herself, Sara draws inspiration for the show’s custom intros from several different podcast hosts. From cute nicknames to changing up everyone’s bio each episode, she tailors everything based on the current week’s show topic. Sara may be the cool-headed introvert most days, but when it comes to podcasting she certainly brings the heat!

Renee, the business (and better) half of Bluegrass Bourbon and Eats, serves as the co-host of Hungry in Kentucky. Planning and organization are the keys to a great podcast, and Renee has both of these qualities in spades. A news-savvy gal who keeps up with current events, Renee also has the scoop on what’s going on in Lexington and where you can do all the cool things around town. Renee has a way of coming up with excellent social media questions and opponents for the Food Fight Cage Match based on the week’s food topic that always makes for a good impression!

Nate, better known as his online alter-ego The Bearded Bourbonaire, is the resident bourbon expert on Hungry in Kentucky. His extensive knowledge of Kentucky bourbons, as well as other (obviously lesser) bourbons, always stirs up good conversation on the podcast. With a happy-go-lucky attitude and a love of enjoying a good drink or two, Nate never ceases to bring the comedic factor to the show. We love hearing about Nate’s Bourbon of the Week and getting his opinion on all sorts of topics - he’s definitely not shy about his thoughts on everyday life!

And of course, this podcast wouldn’t exist without the support and direction of our fearless producer, Carrie. A proven podcaster in her own right, Carrie hosts two of her own podcasts, Girls Beer Sports and Bourbon and Bad Opinions, all while producing several other podcasts in the central Kentucky area. After appearing as guests on GBS a couple of times, Carrie saw something in us that convinced her we’d be good at playing the podcast game, and we’re so glad that she kept on us about starting our own show. Her timely commentary and pro-level production skills bring the whole show together (literally!) and we couldn’t do this without her!
